I've been following them since like 2003/04. They've always been uber expensive. When did they become so expensive? Who played them to make them jump so high in price? This thread is purely for my own personal knowledge. Also feel free to post pics if you think these things are as sexy as I do. And, if you've played one, share your thoughts.
Well Johnny Greenwood, for one. Sammy James Jr., Dave Keuning, Jamie Cook, Chris Walla, Taylor York, Steve Mazur... that's all I can think of and find on Google.

I was lucky enough to have played three of them a few years ago at Chicago Music Exchange. It was interesting how wildly different the 3 felt. They all sounded similar, but if I were blindfolded I would have thought I was playing 3 different models. And they're inordinately expensive. IIRC, they were all between $4,000-$6,000.
I have heard nothing but good things about them, and as posted before, Mr. Greenwood has helped to drive prices up. Also, I think it has in part to do with the shittiness of the Coronado. I have heard nothing but terrible things about them and they are kinda similar guitars.
Offset semi-hollow body by Fender, just the idea itself brings the price up.
Chicago Music Exchange is overpriced, so I would use their prices as the high side of these guitars.
There's a snake in my boots. Someone poisoned the waterhole!

They do price things high, but I always assume that stores expect you to negotiate on used/vintage items. However, given the fact these guitars are incredibly rare, I doubt they'd be willing to negotiate much.
