super cheap guitar strings @ best buy

Post by ifeellikeatourist »

Hey, just a heads up to all of us broke as shit ilfers who dont mind selling out to the man to save a buck...

I was in my local best buy yesterday an scored 3 sets of slinkys for 7 bucks! They are 3.50 each, which is as cheap as you'll find them anywhere, and on top of that they were buy 2 get 1 free!

I dont know if every BB is running this deal, but its worth checking out. They have it on elixirs, too. As long as all 3 sets are the same brand, you can mix and match different types.

These hosa cables aren't bad, either. I use hosa patch cables exclusively pretty much.

Best Buy is sort of becoming a J&R, in that sense.

Go to your local dying mom and pop music stores! While the strings may be cheaper, when everyone stops buying little things from local shops to help keep the lights on, you will be sad when they are closed and you actually need to talk to someone who knows something about instruments and equipment. Also, it's much harder to meet other local musicians at a best buy than a music store!

I work at guitar center and I an in complete opposition to that thought process.
I live here, I'm a local, I get paid to sell gear and I know WAY more than the local mom and pop places. When people come in to ask questions and get knowledge then drop the "ok, thanks. I"m gonna go to the shop down the street, you understand, supporting the local economy."
BITCH I 'AM' THE LOCAL ECONOMY, but fine, go buy your fucking amp elsewhere, pay more and get no knowledge from them. whatever. but when you need something, if something happens, whatever it may be; don't expect me to help you again motherfucker.
wasting time on assholes asking about expensive gear for them to go buy it from a guy who sells strat knock offs for MIM prices.

Thanks! Shit Iike this makes this world go around. I do believe there is a purpose for GC, I just don’t need THAT to be the only place to go.

That's an incredibly harsh generalization, dude. I've met many a musician at guitar centers and best buys. And, I'm confident that my knowledge of gear is on par if not better than many at mom and pop stores.
