Kaossilator?

Post by hasblueshoes »

Anyone else here using one? More importantly, anyone running theirs through some pedals? I finally got a rca-1/4" cable that I could use (the first one I picked up from Radio Shack was TRS and didn't work with most of my pedals). So far reverb & delay have been :thumb: Fuzzes have been kinda :grumpy: I mentioned in the fuzzhugger thread the AB-Synth was playing well, most have been something that would be cool to just trigger a big fuzz blast but not a lot of definition. Overall its a fun little box to jam with.

I'm using one on my noise board. I run it into a Mellowtone Singing Tree and an EHX Stereo Memoryman with Hazarai with great results. The Tree adds a little dirty edge to the sound and I use the SMMw/H for looping and filtering. I got the wrong type of cable initially too. Haha.

I've got mine , but for the moment, it's in my "electronical rig" which is apart from the "guitar rig".
I put it through a kaoss pad 3 and the posibilities there are huge.

My drummer has one. We've played around with it a bit. It's a lot of fun, but it's very hard to reproduce something you did before.

Hey, I've been thinking about getting one of these, but I need to know what's the difference between a kaossilator and the mini kaoss pad? Does the kaossilator have more fx than the mini, or do they focus on different things? I want to start doing more electronic stuff, and I was looking at getting a small synth like the microkorg or the alesis micron, and maybe a drum machine, but do you think that one of these would give me my fill of synth/drum sounds to manipulate. I also like the looping capabilities of the kps.

The Kaossilator is like a mini touch synth with a 16 bar (unlocked) looper with drum, synth, bass, acoustic and SFX tones.

The Mini Kaoss Pad is a mini effects processor with 100 presets plus a few noise generators.

I have both and they work wonderfully in tandem. The Kaossilator is definitely better as a stand alone but if your looking to get effects go with the Kaoss Pad. Hope that helps.

that did help. thanks! I'll probably be going with the kaossilator. I really need to make a trip to GC sometime to check it out.

I've only used mine as a toy when I'm a passenger on a long car ride. :( It is fun, but it is also handy to have a sampler with you just in case something sounds worthwhile. since I'm drumming for a band now and might be doing some stuff with my electribe to dance up the songs, I might run the kaossilator too.
