The Shiva is a silicon or a germanium fuzz?
Can you get a gated fuzz with it (like a fuzzface with a bios knob)?

Silicon. I have no interest in playing the germanium game. And yes, its usually noticeably gated. I dont know how it compares with a fuzzface, I only had one for a little bit, and it had no bias knob.
