^ Probably not, it doesn't do a full-on fuzz like the AB does. What you need to do is get it anyway, then run them both at the same time.

I don't think so... but I never tried the Algal Bloom.
The Elements Fuzz setting is more on the Big Muff side.
You need both on your pedalboard... Algal Bloom for low gain fuziness and grit and Elements for it's versatility and high gain.
Both together would be awesome!

I doubt the Elements can sound like the Algal Bloom.. you're probably gonna need both! *smile*
Transistor based fuzzes just have a certain kind of gain and sound that's different than op-amp based ones.

Just found this new setting.
I really like it the mix knob help for a more natural sound.
Low gain fuziness!!!
All the switches are down.

I've spent a lot of hours goofing around with Elements pedals now and I have two favourite settings:
High gain mode, gain knob 100%, mix knob 100%, bass cut up, mid freq up, bass knob 75%, mid knob 0%, treble knob 50%.
High gain mode, gain knob 100%, mix knob 100%, bass cut up, mid freq down, bass knob 50%, mid knob 100%, treble knob 50%.
One is grindy heavy, the other is heavy palm mutey. My faves.

One other favourite setting... check out this guitar tone, this song definitely inspired the name of the pedal although I think the song is about Dune, not alchemy, which more inspired the name.

You need a low tuned guitar, A I think, and then set the pedal up like this:
High gain mode, gain knob 100%, mix knob 100%, bass cut down, mid freq middle, bass knob 75%, mid knob 0%, treble knob 50ish%

I'm not sure why, but I've pretty much ignored the Elements up until now. Well I just read through this thread and listened to the demos (Syl, your demo fucking rocks), and now I'm really excited for my turn with the Elements tourbox.
