My Squier Affinity Strat is killer playing guitar.
A buddy of mine had one of those fancy dancy usa made strats and side by side the Squier played much better and they sound practically identical.
On a whim I did change out the pickups to a set of Benson Customs and it does sound a bit more chimey and quacky but the old ones are still good and may get a home in my next project git.

It's ugly, and it's pretty much my favorite guitar...and the cheapest by a longshot.

:wha?: Wow, $125 is a steal! Is that the 90s reissue? I love my malt shop creme U2, for long periods of time it's not the guitar for me but every now and then I plug it in and I'm in love with it for about a month.

Any of the Squier Classic Vibe stuff. The CV P-bass in fiesta red is amazing... have yet to find a fender neck with such a nice profile and feel. Definitely wish I hadn't sold it.

There has only ever been one affinity model that I've played and liked (owned 2). That was the 5 string jazz.

Fender Frontman 25R
Got one at a great price on the craigs: seemed like a nice enough office amp plus it had the red tolex!

The cleans on the thing are rediculous, thinking about throwing a new speaker in it at some point but it sounds sweet as is!

Ha...I've got one too. First amp I every bought. Probably the oldest piece of gear I still have. I use it as my vacation amp. Definately pissed off alot of people in my dorm with it back in the day.

Yeah, it's a 90s one. I really wanted a doublecut, but this fell into my lap. It was dirty as all hell when I got it, but I cleaned it up and had a setup done and now I love it to death. Something about the resonance of it, plus those lipstick pickups, and the neck is fantastic. It's my go-to for bedroom fuzz-jamming (I play bass "in real life").

Now I have played some really shitty Affinitys in stores but over the years I got a couple great players that I bought brand new for a buck fifty.
By searching the racks I have found some real nice guitars and I am not talking just nice for a Squier. These things are great players.
It is just like when people plunk down a few grand for their Gibson Histeric site unseen on the net. You might get a keeper or you might get a dog.
There are nice ones out there for cheap if you look around a bit.

The classic Vibes are no joke. I am thinking about getting the jazz bass myself.

Played the gold pickguard CV strat yesterday (yeah the one from Aen's video) and i'd buy that shit... same with the beautiful CV sunburst tele with body binding and shit... looks better than some genuine fenders and does sound pretty good!

+42352 on the CV Tele.

My guitarist has an Ibanez Tone-Lok series delay. Good clean digital delay.

ESP LTD surveyor basses. P and a musicman for pickups. thats pretty rad, imo. nice balanced EQ, natural finish, classy basses all around

something i was expecting to be good, but not THAT good: the Vox 55 series. absolutely phenominal, and almost inarguably the best deal for the price ($1000). the CoAxe pickups are what gibson wished they did in the Firebird X. the neck is pure butter, and the only complaint i have is that the frets aren't to my taste. then again, i have a fretless wonder that puts other fretless wonders to shame.

something I own: Rocktron Hypnotic Flanger. while i wish the random LFO was more prominant, this is proooooooobably one of the more versatile flangers out there. which is odd because its relatively subtle and chorus-like.
,':{I> ... your move, Trebek.
