Gross dude.......

Anyway one thing i will caution you about on those reissues is the pickups. As with all reissues of any type of guitar ever they fucking BUTCHERED the pickups. It may not bother you but if youre looking for a classic haggy sound these arent going to get it.

Also another thing i will caution you on is not to purchase them new. The reissues (and even still sometimes the originals) come up used for like 2-500 bucks all day.

Honestly if youre looking for a hagstrom, get this http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Black-Hags ... 2ebc0d839e that was a good deal 10 years ago and its still a pretty good deal now.

if its not good enough for spacy its not good enough for me =D

Anyways, I have sat on the whole price issue and for a chinese made bass it did seem kind of high.

played this guy yesterday and it felt great and sounded good. It was right around 500 which seems reasonable for the parts in that bass. Sounded really good and I loved the color. Hrmmmmm.

Here are my 2 'Ole Hags from about a year ago.

The sunburst is completely stock.

On the black one, I gutted ALL the electronics and put in a active/passive Bart NTMB, ,Duncan PU's, and drilled a battery cavity in the back.

For a grand total of about $700, it seriously RAWKS :animal:

:) It's one of those rare examples where I can beat the fuck out of it, and it takes a licking while still sounding great.

I've got four of the new Hag guitars--a Super Swede, 2 Ultra Swedes (1 mahogany, 1 basswood), and an F200.
For the money I paid, they are INCREDIBLE. All were bought used or online/massively discounted...
I replaced the humbuckers in all, and the two I gig with now have replacement tuners and pots as well...hardware and electronics are the corners cut on all models. Expect sloppy cavity routing, and sloppier wiring. The exterior finishing is quite good though I would avoid the B-stocks.
Maybe not technically reissues, but they are very comfortable to play, and I LOVE the neck shape on them. The maple tops are simply gorgeous. Not everybody has one, and I take immense pleasure in the fact that all four with upgrades cost me in total what one used PRS costs... :yay:
Special low-frequency version.

This has now been knocked down the list but thank you for your input. I am still very happy with my acoustic and my bass so I may keep it just the two for now but I have played it again. If it was 500 it would have been an easy sell. 750 seems too much.

YIKES. Absolutely too much. I paid no more than $350 for the nicer ones, and the cheaper were $200....
