These also don't have body contours, but they do have front, back and neck binding...

Oh man, I feel like Fender is starting to try some really cool-ass shit.

Hopefully their amp designers will follow suit.

lets see, we have one micro amp for tabletop playing that looks perdy, and one awesome cheap 15" and the upcoming machete which seems like a Mesa mimic

2/3 aint bad

You might see more Japanese stuff after Fender goes public (did that happen yet?) I am told the American line is their least profitable right now.
You have been able to get a lot of the Japanese stuff on ebay unless they changed that.
I agree that the Jag is already busy enough without the f-hole. I think the f-hole would look better on the custom color finishes with matching headstocks.
BUT I think they should have just chambered them and not routed the f-hole. It would have preserved the look, reduced the weight, and made the sound extra slappy and spanky which would be pretty cool.

i agree. on the other hand, it's hard to argue with the result from a sonic standpoint.

or you could be like the dude from Paramore who had Fender paint an F-hole on his guitar because he liked how it looked?
