I like the silverburst, but I like the not-on-the-list-but-used-as-the-promo-photo goldtop even more.

I sold my 72 gold top LP Deluxe many years ago.

All of 'em have maple necks. Hmm. Decades ago (holy shit) I had a maple necked LP Studio that I never bonded with. I've always put a lot of that on the neck wood. But every other electric I've owned has been a maple necked bolt-on of an at least somewhat Fenderish sort. So maybe I was unfair and I just don't like Gibsons or LPs. But I would carefully consider the neck on these and whether you're getting what you want from that sort of guitar.

i always thought mini-hums were inherent on a Firebird.

the boards are "baked" maple. gibson recently started putting those on cheaper models because of their continuing lacey act problems with rosewood.
