Yeah but Colin Greenwood's a pussy and Radiohead toanz aren't really what I'm after.

That's the one! I really wish they had it in walnut like BC's but if you can't tell already, I do like black
Do you doods think it's worth $250-$300 more than the Fenders?
I hate to be the guy who waxes on about how much he loves about an instrument but a year after I got my ASAT (which has the same PU system as the L-2000 series) I have had no gas for any other bass.
In my opinion it was Leo's swan song when he made theses pick ups. Super dynamic and they can get really aggressive which is something that I dig as far as Bass tones goes. Over the year +1 I have had my ASAT I have found out that it can do some more passive sounds as well. I love how the switches for the pick ups are set up, it is very easy and fast to get dial in different tones.
For the price and build quality you get every single dollar you spend. The tribute series is by far the best deal basses hands down. If you can gather some coin you can get a standard for what seems to be killer deals.

Not so! if it was we would be talk'n about tones and not which one looks better and leans against a amp better
to quote a friend "guitar players listen with their eyes, bass players listen with their ears." It's all about sound, how it feels and do you enjoy playing it, what it looks like can't be heard in the mix.
