Gibson SG Classic

Post by Helter »

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has played one of these. I'm thinking of buying one blindly. My local guitar stores don't have any in and I was just wondering if any of you have one or have played one. Like is the neck more like a standard or a worn neck, does it feel solid and quality, etc just little things you may have noticed. I love the look of it and the P-90's and the price is right and an SG has always been my dream guitar. Many thanks to anyone with input.

Here's a MF link of one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ ... ric-guitar

Yeah it seems gibson has a habit of introducing awesome stuff and then taking it away before I can grab it

I played one of those at Sam Ash once. loved it, but I've decided that if i'm ever going to buy an SG it will NOT BE RED OR BLACK.

Awesome guitars, very solid, I think it's one of the best they make.

Huge fan of P90s, so I'm biased as hell, but jeebus those things are boner city
So this turned into another devi thread...

Agreed, love the P-90's also but it's kind of expensive for me to just buy without playing but it seems like the perfect guitar but I think i'm going to go for it... and I love red SG's.

I like the faded finish on my SG Special Faded. I find it more comfortable to play than a neck with a gloss finish. Also, having switched from an Epiphone SG, the Gibson is soooo much nicer to play.
And you're getting a bound fretboard with this one! *jealous*

Oooh that Pete Townsend SG is so sexy, but the smaller original pickgaurd bothers me for some reason.

Yeah, that's one of the few Gibsons I can get behind.

I'd never buy a Gibson blindly, though. But MF has a good return policy... Gibson's QC is awful. But it seems worse on the Standards and whatnot... I guess 'cause there's more to do, and the cheaper stuff is more automated? I dunno.

Also, that used one looks like a pretty good deal!

I know man that used one is probably what i'm going to try and I totally agree on the note with some gibson guitars being shitty. Alot or the faded specials just look like they were glued together by a small child.
