An earlier thread got me GASsing for a Jack Casady and now I keep coming back to look at that Gretsch...

WHY MUST YOU POST SUCH NICE GEAR? (don't stop)

I had never even consider (semi-)hollow basses before ILF.

Which at that point you have to ask: Do I want a modern electric bass that happens o be a hollow body or... a ol' school hollow body bass? Both have pros and cons depending on what type of sounds you actually want, what you like to play, and which one comes in orange.

I played the orange gretsch a while ago, it's aight. The neck dive is bad, not a deal breaker but bad. Have you looked at the epiphone Jack Cassidy bass?

Here is a link to a hollow body bass from a wholesale instrument warehouse in Wisconsin. I've never tried one of their instruments, I'm assuming the quality is squier or similar quality:

^^^ This ^^^ From what I hear, it's a great sounding bass, but that lower horn is a deal-breaker.

Warwick Artist Series (read: made in Korea) Star Bass. Was going to get one in Daphne Blue, but the Jack Bruce Survivor won out.
