Seriously, at these prices we should be getting block inlays with matching paint headstocks and every color variety imaginable.

I personally hate block inlays on fenders, however yes, for this price there should be every option ever offered on a jazzmaster.

prolly 20% off list as map. I'm skeptical of the JM pickups. I just have my doubts that fender can get it right.

i really like that JM, but I've decided to hold out and wait for a used Elvis Costello signature to pop up. I've wanted one of those fuckers for years. also, I love the gold on that JM

For the price, you can get a player Jag that's vintage if you want, especially a refin, without going much over the asking on these.

I don't get it.

It'd be like releasing a $900 Mustang reissue when you can get them for $600 if you shop around. Oh, that's right, they did that too.

Pretty much, back in the day it was Mustangs for 100-150, Jags for 200ish, Jazzmasters for 200-250 in the pre-grunge market of the early 90s.

Then again, I think Fender finally has it right....if you buy the Squiers.

Or used Mexi stuff.

jm's were always the flagship of the fender line back in the day, the most expensive guitar they made. Yes, popularity waned and guitars got cheap in the 80's early 90's - then bounced right back up.
