F*ck I've just fired my F*ck !!
I took the wrong power supply....12v instead of 9v....
The sound is entering (leds are still working) but no sound is coming out.
And I can smell a strange smell from inside...
I have a good friend who is a very good technician, he should be able to repair it if it is some components to change.
Which components do you think have been burnt? (Brian?)

just so everyone is aware, it was a 12V AC adapter! no fun. that being said, i have a protection resistor and diode before the circuit so everything is protected except those components - typically only the resistor will burn up in a puff of magic smoke, which was the case here and is certainly an easier fix than all of the active components! this story ended well and augur44 had it easily repaired.

I always leave off protection diodes out of lazyness except when using IC's.. Will start putting them in now...

it makes things so much easier from a repair standpoint.

I'm sure it does... I have been in the habit of building only 9v. supplied effects. if I need more or pos ground I use a charge pump.. That being said I just built up a few PNP germanium pedals with out but I don't sweat that stuff... I should do it anyway.. just means one more column on a vero...

That's brilliant. Protection components. Never thought of that. Any reading on it?

There is a great thread on freestompboxes.org that us a debug thread on the Fairfield circ barbershop. It is a total dive into the circ with the builder going the explanation and alternatives. Has a good veto and pad board build with schematics and all the gotchas. He is great. Check it out. Typing from cell so no URL. Pm me and I'll get you the link

hmm i don't think i can recommend anything in particular, just from looking at so many schematics over the years, reading random articles and such. my standard setup is:
9V > 1N5818 diode > 10 ohm resistor > 220uf cap to ground
most times power to the rest of the circuit goes from the 10 ohm/220uf junction, though i do isolate sections sometimes with more 10-100 ohm resistors.
