I feel like Sam Adams Winter Lager is much lighter this year.

The High on Fire is a Saison. It wasn't my favorite Saison but I thought it was enjoyable. That being said, it was different for a Saison. It was somewhat sweet but still enjoyable, so not reaching that full on sweeter fruit beers that you get from time to time.
I really enjoyed the Immutable Dusk, which is the Pelican beer. It's a black ale/black IPA and I really enjoyed it. These types of beers have been doing it right for me lately. Sometimes they seem to be a perfect mix between something heavier and something lighter.
I'm not going to get into the Beer Advocate language with y'all because I don't seem to find all the subtleties that these guys do, I just know what I think tastes good and what I'd rather not drink again.

It's hard to find a really, really good black IPA but Three Floyds doing one sounds pretty appealing.
I'm not gonna lie: Sometimes those sophisticated-sounding user reviews on BA make me think some of those guys don't quite know what they're talking about

Founders had a pretty decent Black IPA this year that they did for a few-week-long art festival that Grand Rapids does. I hope it gets brewed again this upcoming year.

Hahaha. If only if only.
I didn't have the Grand Moff last time around so I'm excited to give it a whirl.

Re: THE BEER THREAD(?)----->!!!

Today's haul. Granted the Take the Black stout I got a few weeks back, and the 90 min and Undercover I got yesterday.
The Undercover and 90 min will be gone tonight.

Most likely save the Abyss till next year, drink the Stone, Take the Black, 90 min, and Undercover by next week (finals), and bring the Hennepin home with me for Christmas time with the family. The Stone I'll share with my gf, and the Take the Black with my good friend who likes GoT.
