That's good news for me

I've never weighed more than something like 160 pounds (170 has always been a goal if I were to really focus on bulking, but I don't want too much excess fat). I'm really enjoying the gymnastic strength stuff, because it's "functional" and I'm seeing the best gains of my life from it. But I really, really, like running. I'd like to get up to just two 6-mile runs a week. I'm hoping that won't be too much so that I can still be able to gain strength and a size from the gymnastic stuff at the same time. I'm hoping that having at least two days of full rest a week will be enough. Eating my face off and pounding digestive enzymes, which is a little annoying because I'd like to rely less on supplements, but it's the only way I can absorb enough calories at this point.

I started hitting the gym again a few days ago and I am still sore as hell. Couldn't actually get out of bed the first day
Trying to work more on putting on muscle rather than toning, just got to get a routine down and work on eating better.

I think I'm going to order some gymnastic rings soon. I've been using some DIY pvc "handles" and rope to do some real basic holds. I'm starting to be able to do L-sits with them :yay:

UGH! Today is leg day and refeed day. I'm doing carb cycling and I fucking hate carbs now. They make me feel like shit. What sucks is in order to get the amount of carbs I actually need to hit my target, is that I have to eat something shitty. Today I didn't have the energy to make anything, so I had two glazed donuts and a protein shake. That hit my mark exactly. Fucking hate it though. I think I could just stick with chicken and broccoli forever and feel fine. Tonight I have to have a burger and I'm dreading that too.

Tomorrow it's back down to low carb though! I'm 8 lbs lighter and sitting at like 16% body fat. So this shit is working. I'll be a cut up mofo by the end of it. It'll be one of those situations where I just forget to wear my shirt everywhere. :)

Have you tried using digestive enzymes when you have to eat a lot? I'm still struggling a bit with being able to eat more than usual, but using enzymes makes it a hundred times easier. And isn't it a myth that you have to get a shitload of carbs to replenish glycogen? Wouldn't yams and shit be enough? I mean, crap food is crap food. No "ifs ands or buts" about it.

Edit: I obsess a bit unhealthily over this kind of thing and had to look something up:
Doughnuts don't seem to go much higher than about 60grams of carbs, and one "medium sized" banana has something like 27 grams. An apple has around 25-30 something carbs. It seems like you could eat fruit and stuff and not have to eat junk food, especially if it makes you feel like shit.

like half a year ago - a bought a Magic Bullet blender. i didn't have high hopes.

i tried the Juicing thing with my GF for a bit. it became a pain. messy clean up/ time consuming.
But .. with the Magic bullet > i take some fresh/frozen fruit like papaya, mango, banana, strawberries .. add some carrot juice ..
and some roasted cold milled flax seed. and it turns out Great! super fast with little clean up.
i never thought a little "as seen on tv" style product would be so great.

i like to go for walks/ bike rides with my ipod.

i need to hit the Gym .. and get into some kind of weight routine.

Sorry for the short response earlier. I literally had not thought of using fruit. Hahaha. My first thought was "shit" food. Must be because I'm eating so clean the whole week.

My goal is 25 grams of fat, 40 grams of protein and 80 grams of carbs. So I had two glazed donuts and a protein shake. Worked great but yea, like I said, didn't even think of that. Oh well! It'll be in my head next week. My coach had told me to eat something like pancakes or hash browns though. Maybe he wants me to have a certain type of carb? I'm not sure.

For dinner I had a cheeseburger. Same as last week. Still seeing changes. Carb cycling is so fucking weird.

Oh and my multi has a ton of digestive enzymes in it.

No prob. Are those amounts for one meal?
I've seen/read a fair amount of advice using white potatoes for your simple carbs, should you need simple ones. Hash browns would be good, especially with the butter you may cook them in (there's some fats for you). I eat fairly low carb and real high in fats. I can't do dairy, though, so it's lots of coconut or olive oil on/with stuff. Sometimes I just drink it. It's not very filling, packed with calories, and if I'm keeping the carbs low, it keeps the BF low, too. I'm just trying to find a good balance between fats and carbs because I do want to up my run mileage on the two days I run each week. Maybe I just need to stop fucking around and get on some kind cycle (as annoying as cycle-diets are to maintain).

Edit: Oh yeah, and sparrow's juicing idea is good, too. Grinding all those nutrient-dense fruits and veggies up into a smaller, more easily digestible form is a good way pack in more nutrients. I need a blending-device of some sort.

Double edit: If you care at all to try drinking oils for extra fat calories, don't do more than a couple tablespoons/gulps worth at first, otherwise you may have some bad toilet experiences. Also, get good stuff (natural/organic) so you're not drinking a bunch of olive flavored corn syrup or something.

Had Easter stuff with the family and since all my nephews and nieces are 7 and younger all the "food" was catered to their insatiable sweet teeth. I only had one serving of veggies and way too much sugar/carbs. Gym time is gonna suck pretty hard tomorrow.

Yea those amounts are for one meal. It's actually harder to do than you'd think. Last week I ended up have 4 pieces of french toast and 4 eggs. Again, didn't even think about fruit. Probably because I'm trying to refeed and need a more sustainable energy source. I know bananas are complex, but most fruits are the same as simple sugars.

I'm eating tons of fats and proteins. I'll break my entire diet down. It's quite simple right now.

Phase 1:

breakfast: 4 eggs, 4 egg whites, 2 pieces of turkey bacon
snack:40 grams of protein powder (lactose free) and 2 tablespoons of peanut butter or 25 almonds
lunch:7 oz's of chicken breast or fish (weighed uncooked), 2 cups of broccoli
Snack:same as above
dinner: same as lunch
snack:same as above

Then half way through the week I gradually add carbs back in and then Saturday I slam my body with two bigger meals. It's been hard for breakfast but for dinner I usually have something like a 5 Guys Burger. Not the healthiest, but it's working. My body gobbles that shit and gets rid of it so damn fast I can barely hold onto the energy.

Today I was feeling pretty depleted. UGH. I'm down to 205 from 212. I'm starting to notice a visual difference which is awesome, but my strength has gone in the crapper.

End of week four for me. Today I was 201 from 212. Noticing lots of changes in my body. Really liking my progress. I can't wait to see what the next 14 weeks will bring!

End of week 6 (tomorrow) and I'm down to 198. Lots of changes have occurred. I lost 3 inches on my abdomen last month and am starting to get striations in places I never did before. I've been fluxuating water weight a LOT though, which is annoying. I started drinking around 2 gallons of water a day and that has seemed to help. Plus I'm now taking a fat burner that has a water balancing agents in it so I can shed unwanted water weight. I won'b be on that one long though.
