Thanks, chaps. The boards won't be that bad to solder. Not a super huge amount of components. Lots of pots and switches. Just finalizing the circuit, designing a board with board mounted pots, will take time.

Current sounds. Here's a fixed divider, multiplier, fuzz setting at a mix. Just playing with the controls that affect the Phase Locked Loop's behaviour.

Thanks! Working on a board layout still. There's a preamp control and a trigger control on the original PLL. I rarely fuck with those as they seem to not do a whole lot. Might leave them out as most of the fun comes with playing with the loop controls which there are 3 controls plus a toggle for different timing caps. I want to have two switchable sets of these controls so you could do a more straightforward octave synth sound and then switch to a crazy theremin sound. I think that schematic has been out for a year, need to set a deadline for myself!

elevenstrings kindly let me borrow his Dimehead to compare. I getting less functionality with my preamp and trigger controls and I seem to have a hard time getting usable sounds with the Dimehead. Mostly in the tracking department. So I don't know, I did a simple mod to get rid of uncontrollable glitching but with a simple switch it could go into glitch city, as well. There's still a lot of ideas to try out as there are so many old guitar synth designs that ultilize phase lock loop chips to hack from. Ideally, it would be great to have the same sounds as the original but with some improvement/additions.

Tristan had the same probs with the Dimehead, IIRC.

You can definitely get some good sounds with the Dimehead but the are harder to dial in it seems and it just seems unpredictable. I was getting some super cool sounds that I wasn't getting with mine.
