Nothing wrong with standard tuning. Lots of rad tunes that're way easier to play down one step, too.

As far as low stuff goes, I start to lose my way after two steps (C), since I don't use larger gauges on mah bass, just Rotos -- gotta have those easy bends.

B, for me, is Sepultura and ISIS covers.

C is good. I used to roll it all the time.
B standard is for Down.....Drop A is quite tasty and puts you into Black Cobra territory.

SLK: I really liked Kamikaze Pilot....probably a lot more than I should.....nah fuck that. It's awesome. I like it the appropriate amount. Kudos in large volumes for your drumming there, too.
Also awesome was Murderbeast.
They reminded me I'm an old fart and I need to listen blast beats and shit over 130bpm more often.

on the tuning thing...its been a downward spiral for me in the last 2 years...i always use to play in Eb...then went down to D...the last year I went down to C...then a few months ago i went down to B...I'm not getting the itch to go down to A...but i think i may need to start looking for 25 or 25.5 scale guitars to keep some kind of clarity when i decide to go down further!

also...this could be killer news if it happens...but I realised that YOB and Pallbearer are playing a show in London in Sept...obviously i'll go...but the "killer" part is that my mate (guitarist in the band) is good friends with a band call Bast, who are opening for that show...so we will definitely go...and maybe we'll be able to hang out with the bands!

also note all the drumming in KP is single foot. I refuse to do any double bass work in it at all.

Amen brother, our drummer is of the same mindset and I love it.

I personally love double foot kick drum work, but it's definitely overused. I'd really like to start a Post-Metal kinda band and add double foot flurries like The Ocean does. I'd love to blend the grooves and speed of Gojira, with the slow, ambient drone of Cult of Luna.

I'm in. So lets get this shit started.

You guys have ways to co-write the guitar parts? I'll lay the drum tracks!!! I know me n Dazed can do our own recordings, Dan do you have a way to record? I'm all about an online international collab.

I got an email from a record label from Ireland asking us about having us on a 7" split series. Being a small label they are asking for the bands to chip in on it as well. I'm used to this as I have done this will pretty good success with a release before. 300 copies on colored vinyl split three ways with the label, and two bands. Our part of the cost would be 350 Euros which ends up at around $255 for us. What say you wise dudes? I mean, I'm gonna find out more about it, but is there anything I should be looking out for that I might miss?

What label was it? Also 350 euro is about 480 dollars which sounds like a tad too much money for a third payment on 300 7"s. Here's my supplier's price list.

I don't even own a guitar in standard tuning anymore, just one in B. Although for basses it's the exact opposite, I have 3 in standard tuning (or Eb usually) and one in B. I keep meaning to buy another guitar to keep in standard, but I don't have much use for it right now and I spent a big chunk of change on the new recording computer and DAW.
