Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I've missed a shitload of pages lately because I've been super busy finishing up the mixing of our new stuff. Trying to get it all ready for the show we're playing this weekend. My music may be ugly, but I do believe in making it look great. Spent the last few hours assembling these jackets and screen printing cds for a short run of physical copies to sell at shows until we can get the other two recorded and HOPEFULLY put out a 12".

Yeah I'm gonna need to add that to my collection. the last one you did impressed the hell out of me. DIY packaging really blew my mind and was definitely a part of how my mind was before listening to it.

There's a better shot of the artwork. Matt (t0thesun) is an incredible artist. He keeps getting better and better with everything he shows me. Now I just gotta finish up the inserts tomorrow and hopefully it'll be done. Bandcamp link is locked and loaded, just waiting final approval from the rest of the dudes before I make it public. Once it goes up I'll post it in here.

Pump on, man. Pump on.
On a serious note I am stoked to hear you guys got bassified and I can't wait to hear more thunder.
I still have to pick up one critical component of your care package...I have been broke as shit lately.
Going on a pedal buying rampage hasn't helped.
Big thanks to Skip. Deal of a lifetime. I apologise that the shipping was that brutal man. If I had known it would come to that, I seriously would not have put you through it.
I'll sort you out a care package as well.
And I better get one done for Chank....
Edit: Conky, please tell me that will be going on a shirt.

I figured you'd dig them. That split was pretty much the only thing I listened to for months one time. I ended up putting out a split with Neon Hole because I dug that shit so much.ShaolinLambKiller wrote:conky wrote:PM me your address.AxAxSxS wrote:ACC FTW

Also, if anyone comes across (or has, and is looking to sell) a Red Bear or Novik MK120/MKE120, hit me up. The other guitarist in Khemmis is GASing hard for one. Has his Sunn Sorado up for grabs as trade bait (or if anyone just wants to buy it - http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sunn-Sorado-KT8 ... 1c43b2a450)
Such solid amps. I'd sell mine... but NEVER. hahaha.
It is my go to recording amp. I rarely use the verellen in the studio. The redbear just stands out on recordings and pairs with errything.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I mainly want to get back up cymbals, used of course and on the cheaps. Luckily though the cymbals I mainly wanna use (Sabian APX) are relatively cheap (I got a brand new set of 15" HH, 24" ride, and two different 20" crashes for $500 shipped from MF) and are even cheaper when they come up used. For practicing I'm probably just gonna use B8 rides for crashes as they are dirt cheap and the same diameter as the ones I'll use live and in the studio, but finding cheap 15" hh and 24" rides aint easy.... oh and I want one of those Sabian 24" bash rides something fierce....Road Bull wrote:Oh brother. Then I need to get drum bag's / a hardware case with wheels for gigging, and would like to upgrade the two boom stands to some really heavy duty 1"+ tube boom stands to handle my huge ass crashes. and I'd like to get a 14x8" wood snare with wood hoops.....
See!!!?!?!?! There's sooo much stuff.... GAH.
No worries dude I'm a man of my word and I always take care of my doom bro's!!! Karma will find a way.Iommic Pope wrote:Big thanks to Skip. Deal of a lifetime. I apologise that the shipping was that brutal man. If I had known it would come to that, I seriously would not have put you through it.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
DOOMBROS! I finally had some time to record something after a few months of being too busy!
I recorded a new EP over the weekend with Idiotbox Effects tourbox- all tracks used the Blower Box and Dungeon Master, along with the Dimension X Delay!
I tried to cover a few different styles, so the first track is a 15 minute funeral doom epic, followed by a sludgy thrash song, with a classic doom feeling closer.
You can check out the EP here:
http://thecivilacoustic.bandcamp.com/album/07272014

About the recordings:
All guitar and bass were recorded live in the Dirge Cave.
Guitar was an EGC Standard tuned to Drop C into 50w Verellen head and Emperor 2x12.
Bass was a Jazz Bass copy tuned to C Standard into 50w Verellen head and B Cabs 2x12.
Both guitar and bass tracks were minimally post-EQ'd and mixed.
Drums were generated using Garageband's virtual drummer.
Guitar mic was a Samson kick mic, Bass mic was a 60's vocal mic.
