after one very painful month of employment at my new job i just quit. what a relief. i got something else lined up, so hopefully it'll all be okay. it was presented to me as this awesome new job with a bunch of money and interesting shit to do, but it turned out to be absolute bullshit. i never did the job they hired me for at all, just really shitty low paid super high stress carpentry work with some crazy guy breathing down my neck all day every day.

I am so not in a hurry to get back into an employer/employee situation. I'm not totally fucking sold on the going to school deal, but it's my only option now and it certainly doesn't suck. But the idiot to sane person ratio is not to my liking at all.
I need to figure out an option for self employment when I have my degree.

On the bright side, I bought some legal weed. It was excellent. Very tasty and stony. Made for a decent practice tonight.

Ah dude, that sucks.
The trend lately is that a lot of the bands I had written off ever seeing here are coming down and doing fairly quick (within 24 months) repeat tours, so hopefully they made enough money and had a good enough time to consider coming back soon.
The next time they come back I reckon I'll probably see them here and travel to Sydney or Melbs for another intake...maybe Radelaide so I can see my mate there actually.

I actually never had a univibe and p90's at the same time so I dunno if I can correctly answer your question. I do know that p90's are hard not to get along with pedal wise.

also, conky, i finally got to check out that deadhand link for the new recording. it sounds so good. that's a really good home recording job. and the songs are fucking great. a sensible progression from the last recording, but fucking awesome regardless. good job. and the packaging looks killer. maybe even better than the last one, which i loved. i really appreciate the work y'all put into your packaging.

Thanks man. This recording was a bitch and a half but in the end it was so worth it. Learned a lot about recording in the process so I'll have that for the next time. The first song is the first one we ever wrote. We just ended up not using it for the split because we thought the other song fit better. The last song on there though is the newest one we wrote out of the three. We have two more that are more in that style that we are finishing up to have on there as a full length. I'm gonna send out a ton of copies of the cd in hopes that I can get another label to either release it all by themselves or at least go in on a co-pressing with me.

So a new friend of mine gave me a 94 revision G Crybaby wah pedal last night for free, his wife and mine went out for a bit so I delved in and modded it before ever plugging it in. I made it true bypass and removed the buffer, and it worked on the first try! Sounds aight, like a crybaby should. But for free I ain't complaining!

Free Crybabies are awesome. A buddy gave me mine too. I have gone through and put most of the Jerry Cantrell mods on it all except for the knob to adjust the top end of the toe sweep. One cool thing to do though is socket the middle cap on the second row from the bottom. I put a .01uf cap that I took out of an LPB-1 and it sounds synth like in the sweep Really deep and pronounced. Gets crazy with fuzz.

A guy hit me up already from the ad, asking if I'd be down to do a Man Is The Bastard inspired dual bass band. I don't know how serious he is or if he has a drummer, but I like that style and wouldn't mind beefing it up a bit to a slightly heavier style, so I responded.
