Both Gain toggle modes are so TONEful !

also, it's not actually on my pedalboard. it's the only thing to make my dano amp sound FUCKING AWESOME with headphones that it's single handedly increased my spur of the moment metal-after-12-o'-clock by a gazillion percentages. brutal sound. :)* :)*
Thanks vid! That's cool about the headphones, I used to love playing guitar with headphones. The tone is so huge in your ears and I love that weird kinda direct tone that some headphone outputs or amp sims or multi effects or whatever have.. tons of bass, tons of highs and mids... hugely high gain awesome for power chords and palm mutes.
I think a lot of fuzz/od pedals are designed to sound great into amps that are already cooking quite a bit, already have a solid amount of gain.. I play through a sparkly clean amp with no gain at all so my drive pedals have to go all the way to hugely distorted all by themselves.

Is the Elements supposed to get an octave up in some settings? Because my current setting has a nice octave up.
Gain and clip both all the way down, Cut and Mids all the way up. Bass at 12:00, Mids at 2:00 and treble at 12:30. Gain at 1:00 and blend at 5:00 (maxed).

Anyone have a good EVH "Brown" sound? Like the Fair Warning album?
What about Vai's tone?

Re: The Elements, favorite settings, post them here!
Sorry for my slow reply here! I've had emails through the years saying how the Elements can nail the brown sound but I don't really have an example of it, I'm sorry. I think you'd want to use the upper gain toggle position, upper for bass as well, middle position for no diodes, mids in the lower position and goose up the knob quite a bit, gain knob around noon, mix knob at 100% wet, bass knob at noon, treble knob around noon... does that get you kinda close?
I'm even less familiar with Vai, I'm sorry!

Anyone ever pull a plexi/jtm/jcm800 kinda drive with the elements? Curious about marshall tones out of the pedal!
Other than above of course!

For me, marshalls are all about that mid hump at around 750 Hz. Set the mids switch to 800 Hz, crank the mids knob a fair bit, tighten the bass a little with the bass cut switch and use the bass knob to dial in as much thump as you want.
Sounds a fair bit like our other guitarist's jcm800

I'm still waiting for an Elements with a Boneshakeresque parametric eq.
The two eq switches can become a low and a high cut.

I have been all over my Elements the past few weeks. Such a beautifully versatile pedal!

Re: The Elements, favorite settings, post them here!
Just got a pedal power that can do 9v or 12v... I've always run the Elements at 9v for both guitar and bass. My primary use for the Elements in this situation (in which I'll be using the new pedal power) will be for low gain, slightly overdriven "always on" tone.
What would the advantages, if any, in this situation be if I decided to run the Elements at 12v?
Thanks!

Theoretically more head room, but I can't hear a difference.

Ehhhhh, I just did some more research on what some of my other pedals need for power and all my 12v spots will be taken up anyway. Thought I had an extra.
Ah well, 9v will be fine for me!
Thanks!

12v = cleaner, less hair (for me).
I prefer it at 9v.
