The Automotive (& other mechanized vehicles) thread

Post by Chankgeez »

I still want that notchback:

If we're gonna talk about cars, we should probably do it in a car (TWSS) thread. :idk:

I need a drivers license.

My gf won't let me drive American cars though. They're too shitty. I think they look great though.

You guys can learn the correct path though. It's not to late. I don't think they make big enough parking lots over there though. These should be a good introduction though:

By shitty I mean dangerous. I'm sure they hold up well, but that is also the point. Crashing in one would suck balls. European and Japanese cars look totally trashed when crashing for a reason, to distribute the energy of the impact. Old american cars have the hardest chassis of any car ever. It looks like nothing happened when one crashes. You're taking the entire blow. Also, the seat-belts are a joke.

Anyways, I still want one. Mojo over safety.

1k+ hoursepower is scray man. That's the point haha. Ah, well put an LS 1 in one of those Volvo station wagons and go for broke man. Like this:

If I never get my GTO, Tempest, or Le Mans, I might shoot for something like this Chevy II Gasser (I'd love a Camero, but, ah hell you see em too much):

Oh hell, this makes me happy:

I agree that cars are gears. I love station wagons/deliveries too. My favorites are the previously mentioned Volvo, Morris Minor, Chevy II
But my favorite is the Ford Anglia since I was a kid watching one do 250 in the quarter mile on straight gas and a chevy big block, dude had to sit in the back seat

Love me some Nomads and Impala station wagons too:

I just like 62 impalas haha

Austins are nice though Chankgeez, you ever driven one? They need more power and new wiring, but they are fun little cars.

UC, you should really take a vacation over here and rent a muscle car and drive around. It would be a blast. Tons of open roads to gun it.

Oh, man, that Impala. :whoa:

Never driven an Austin. I've always wanted a Mini. (I think all British classics need new wiring and more power, right?)

I like really small cars and really big cars. :D

Yea, all British cars need new wiring and a bit of hp. Not much, just to get them going. I grew up with my dad always talking about goofy/strange ideas for British muscle. Small cars are awesome. That little mini did pretty damn good.

Speaking of fun little cars: Nash Metro

I think I met this guy:

I love looking at nice cars, I used to apprentice as a car mechanic until I realized I couldn't make enough money doing it to afford the cars I wanted. Still want a Volvo 240 as a day to day vehicle, mum had one and while it never went faster than 80 KPH it never died.
I live in a desert that preserves old cars so lots of American Muscle in my town but those cars are so expensive to think about and maintain. I am a fan of inline 4 engines and small displacement motors. Big V8s feel dated and antiquated to me.
