I'm especially jelly of all you super east coast guys. I'd REALLY dig getting to see some Sumac. I will NOT be missing this bar some super, serious, life altering emergency. I missed Neurosis at Southwest Terrorfest last year after buying tickets. I will NOT miss this again.

First Neurosis show for me too -- I was definitely late to the party with them. Don't think I really got it until I listened to Through Silver in Blood in its entirety driving by myself through a pretty epic snowstorm, and that was in like 2011? 2012?

So I bought a loaded 2001 MIM tele standard body on eBay. Its got a hideous white pearloid pickguard on it. Wanna convert it to an esquire but everywhere I see that has replacement pickguards says they don't fit pre 2002 MIM bodies. Is it just the screw holes not lining up or something else? Cause I can fill those in if that's all it is. Also, gonna put a Hot Rails in it. What's the best way to wire it up to a three way switch?

ShaunNecro wrote:Fuck guys... Something is up with the Sound City that I brought down from Michigan. I can tell that it isn't pushing out anywhere near 200 watts, as both my V4 and my Univox are surpassing it in volume easily. I ran a separate preamp directly into the power section, so I know the issue isn't in the preamp (which needs a little work anyways), but now I'm worried that the issue could be in the transformers, since it has been recapped and has new power tubes... Ugh.

Having heard a couple of these in person, it should be insanely loud. It's probably something like a bad connection, cold solder joint or something liek that. If there was a major issue there would be most likely no ouput or something similar.

Never heard that, I've only heard of 5 hole (vintage) or 7 hole (modern) pickguards. There will not be a shape difference only the hole alignments. I wouldn't worry about the three way switch with the hot rails, just pickup > vol > tone or Pickup > Vol > output

Through Silver in Blood is what sold me too, but it was an epic shitstorm of teenage suicidal emotional crazyness that made me get it the first time. Was probably a year or two before Times of grace so probably 97/98. I'm gonna try and make the richmond show which would be my first Neurosis show as well.

The ones I was looking at was from WD Music and one other place. Both of them said that it wouldn't fit pre 2002 MIM teles. I'm sure its just the screw holes if anything. Hell for $12 bucks its worth a shot. I know i'd like one position to be full humbucker, volume, and tone. The other two I'm not sure of. Don't really think it'll be used that much. Maybe wire up one position for a kill switch, I dunno.

Through Silver in Blood is my favorite Neurosis album. The second time I saw them they closed with the title track. My favorite one. That was the top of the mountain as far as live music experiences go for me. It's all downhill from here.

Hopefully we'll be heading up I-95 this summer / fall. We were wanting to go out in July but our drummer moved to Jacksonville so we're taking a little time to get used to being so spread out.

Yeah its just the screw holes at that point. Hmmmmmm maybe series / parallel / kill, so you have low output humbucker / high output humbucker / easy quiet?

TSiB is an absolute musical masterpiece for sure, but theres something about the raw hunger and creativity used on Enemy of the Sun that does it for me. Raze the Stray and Cleanse are my top two favorite tracks from them, followed by Takehanse from Souls at zero.
