Although, could be cool to externally trigger mode switching if the settings are right and there's not too much lag in channel switching. I've seen these go for crazy cheap used....

have you tried a adsr from a synth app, i think it can get you close, but i guess you want the delayed signal to have some sort of the instrument you are playing, to process/play a role in the trigger not only an external source that you will also need to focus/control
