Re: The spite, hate, rage, apathy and mild irritation thread
I don't know if I am getting old, it was those concussions, lack of practice, or getting hit by a car but I have forgotten sho much shit in the last ten years. Everytime I look at a digital box with menus or a video game I kinda stall, get frustrated, and wished I didn't have to scroll through someone else's sense of organization. COmpletely forgot how to use my eight track. Completely don't understand how to use the MPC-1000. Gave up on my S-330. I think I am just a grouchy old man and that sucks. Living the hard life in the 20s creates a moron in their 30s I guess. Hell, I can't focus on video games even (they give me a headache from eyestrain i think). A lot of good all those $200 copies of BlastWind and collectors editions of Dodonpachi/Pink Sweets/Ibara are going to do me.
edit: and why are there like 9 nails in my shoe?

Dude start keeping the brain as active as possible. It gets worse in your 40s.

Something similar happen to me with my last phone. Camera would never focus and everything came out blurry as hell like 2 weeks after I bought it. That's why I never had an Instagram account until last year.

Oh I do. It don't shut off. I think it's just frustration that I get maybe an hour a day to mess with music stuff and I have to learn a menu. It is probably also scatterbrainedness. I'm constantly working my brain. Thank whoever that I didn't do drugs though. I think I am just seeing generational gaps more. Watching younger people text, swipe and do all that stuff is crazy. I bought a keyboard for my tablet and still find it kind of cumbersome. haha
The video game thing I think has to do with my eyes getting worse and the mordern TVs not displaying bullet hell games correctly. It hurts my face.
Oh, if I make it to 40. haha.

new video games are so crazy tho. its more like a movie then a game. i can only deal w/ SNES games. new games are way too time consuming for me.
as for other stuff, you still got the muscle memory and things. sometimes it just takes a lil refresher course and a lil patience and itll all come back to ya's

Re: The spite, hate, rage, apathy and mild irritation thread
Bit pissed off at myself. Recently impulse bought a MIJ Jaguar from a local adverts website. Dude sent on pics and the the guitar looked perfect! The dude was dropping it over to my place. My wife has a thing about strangers being in our house so didn't want to invite him in properly to my music room full of synths, modular and guitar gear so really only took a quick look at it in my hallway. Fatal mistake!!
Eventually got to try it out properly and the tremolo seemed off when flicking the lock button but that was easily fixed. Then I notice the tremolo knife plate seemed really low compared to my CIJ Jazzmaster. Need to look at raising it somehow as the low E string is rubbing off one of the screws holding in the knife plate.
Then I notice the neck pickup is slightly misaligned and is actually causing the scratchplate to rise. Need to get that realigned somewhow.
Then playing it today, I realise the bridge pickup is actually microphonic! I can hear every little creak and noise from the guitar
God knows how much all that's gonna cost to fix! Never had any work done on my guitars before. Thought I was buying a good guitar that wouldn't need work as this is pretty much the last big spend I was gonna have before our first kid arrives. I already paid €700 for it with a good hard flight case thing, which is a little over the norm, but now I need to put at least another €160 odd for new pickups and installation etc. it's totally my own fault for rushing in and not giving it a proper try out first but I'm still a bit pissed off at it all.
Moan over.

Two months after I paid for it, I'll be getting the new Acid King LP... in black, because "Unfortunately we did not receive enough blue copies to fulfill all the orders." What the fuck is the purpose of a preorder if not to determine the actual quantity to press?
I'm not actually bothered, but a quick check of the usual online spots shows that I could have picked up the album on release for less that I paid to preorder it and actually get the version that was ordered before. Bad form.

Oh yeah dude it's a monster. They were rad enough to send me a FLAC download option after the first month. Definitely one of my albums of the year:

Re: The spite, hate, rage, apathy and mild irritation thread
So I have two different contact solutions.
One is the regular wash and hydrate style solution. The other is hydrogen peroxide with the special contact case that neutralizes it over 6 hours or so. I came home and took my contacts out for a while, putting them in the non-hydrogen peroxide case.
Turns out I didn't fill it with the regular solution.
I will never never never never never do that again. OW.
