So, it finally happened to me.
FedEx driver stuck a sticker on my door saying I didn't answer.
Even though I've been home all day.
The only thing to alleviate it is that the customer service rep didn't try to fuck around and just went straight with "okay, I'll notify them and see if they can redeliver today".
Talked to a lawyer today and there's a pretty good chance I'm not going to get the resolution I'm hoping for. She's been the primary caretaker because I've worked so much and she's spent every second with him.
I also can't file for divorce for 8 months and it'll be 2 months before I can even go to court for any sort of custody agreement because of some law in NC that says you have to be a resident for 6 months.
My only little bit of hope is that this guy doesn't want to deal with all this and just decides to say fuck it to the whole thing
While I would understand it being tough to keep her away from this guy—she's allowed to do that—I don't get how it's doable for her to just up and move 500 miles away from you. It seems like that could feasibly be a big obstacle for you seeing your kid, both financially and being able to find time. There has to be some of the law on your side there, no?

Is your legal residence still GA? Maybe you need to file there. There may be laws against her moving without your consent... I don't know. That gets all fucked because you moved, too.
I think me moving might have fucked all of it up. I'm in a weird legal limbo or some shit.
I talked to her some tonight about it. She's acting like she has everything figured out but I can tell some of the things I asked her shook her up a bit. Just logistical questions that I don't think she's really thought through. Like whether our kid will have a bedroom there, for example.
She also says she hasn't made up her mind yet. I hope that part is true.
On the plus side, her end goal is Philly and I've always wanted to live in Philly. If she really does end up with him I'm going to go work on a crab boat or something.
i played today as part of a pickup band for our semi-annual employee picnic. my Laney amp just got back from being fixed, so i schlepped it over from home to work (which is a bear, because it weighs as much as an AC30 if not more). After i got set up, it started making noise every time a loud drum hit happened, and then it quit entirely. I'm hoping it's just a loose tube, but i'm really bummed out because i was excited to have my sound together and now i have to carry the amp back into my building from the car. I should try to figure it out when i get home, but i am so tired i'd rather just go to bed.

Maybe then they would remake Waterworld so it wasn't shit.
