Absolutely no sonic differences, its just a nice cable to put with a 2k+ amp project

I got home and messed around with the amp a little. The squealing type noise tapers off if I turn down the treble on the amp. Also, engaging my ISP Decimator eliminates the squeal.

Are we talking in drop tuning, because fuck yes. That mismatch between the root and the ninth and the dogfight they have in the chord is nasty awesome.
Also nice in drop is playing your standard power chord and chucking in that extra fifth an octave above, so 3-3-3-5, for instance and then changing to one of those bad boys, like a 6-6-8-8.

Also those Merck power cables look good because I imagine they'd be pretty tough, right?
That sorta seems like a decent insurance policy to me.
Dunno about toanz and shit but I know about leads gettin fucked up.

not in drop, although that'd be cool too.

A cable that is well made and of sufficient length is all I care about. Nick using those cables strikes me as installing a chrome alternator in a car. Doesn't functionally do anything different, but looks pretty and shows the builder cared.

Over Spent today. I picked up a few Abominable Electronics Pedals and finally snagged up a Mr. Black Supermoon.

Do you actually notice any difference? As far as I understand it, it shouldn't really make any sonic difference, of if it does, not anywhere to the amount the marketing makes it out to be. Thicker cable would allow for less resistance I believe? But the iec cable is there to deliver the power from the wall to the power transformer and is not in the audio path, so how much would resistance effect that besides contributing towards keeping a consistent voltage to the power transformer.

And that mini sunn looks nice but I think the same thing has to be said every time a model t pedal or clone comes up. A large part of the sound of a model t is the output section. A model t is pretty much a marshall super bass preamp that goes into an ultralinear power amp. Take away that power amp and you are taking away a big part of a model t sound.

Oh I agree completely but these have a special tone all on there own. The ones in the picture I posted were on there way to Stephen O'Malley. I am getting it because while it is similar to a T, it is also extremely convenient for my living arrangements and I can also hook it up to a power amp and crush chests that way as well.

Suss it in drop.

Yeah I dig that. But they look durable as well, which is a bonus.

This /\ I got that MM red power cable with the Naki from Nick. I also have some fancy Monster cable IEC cable that I got randomly with something else, plus a couple other thicker / heavy duty IEC cables and they make absolutely no sonic difference. Reliability is what the difference is and I gotta say those MM cables are built to last, plus they are hard to lose.

I love doing that shit in grindy fast parts, possibly because I'm a pretty sloppy player, but all of the extra dissonance always seems to build up and feedback more

I've been completely overhauling my right hand technique the past couple of weeks. I picked up quite a few bad habits...the resulting of wanking around the past 2 years and neglecting the practicing and improving part. I've got some cobwebs on my music theory so I've been brushing up on that as well.

All wank and no practice makes Beasley a dull boy.

I really need to do this, I've been working on my picking lately but I always get bored and go back to wanking or noise. Also, are any of you guys into more technical playing? I've been trying to work some sweeps and arpeggios into my bass vi parts along with some tapping and I have no clue where to start.

fuck me summit...thats a rough situation.

also on those chords...i'm gonna try them out...i've been on a bit of stretch technique recently...index finger and pinky doing 1-5 and then adding middle finger and strumming through 1-5-0-3-0-0...this is B standard tuning though...not drop.

can get really muddy with too much dirt, but it sounds off in a good way.

Fuck that, Summit.

I have tiny ass hands (which is part of the reason I play bass primarily) but that Root-6th above looks pretty interesting. I'm gonna avoid using 'tab talk' as I'm trying to really commit to knowing, rather than 'knowing' more theory this year.

Which is incredibly useful now that I make noise all on my lonesome.
