Probs. And if you like it you've got something like 15 seasons to watch!

Yeah that says it all, silly British humour in space!
Red Dwarf is a cult classic.. a way of life for some people... I think it's one of the best sitcoms ever on tv, probably my favourite, but there's a lot of nostalgia mixed in since its such an old show. The first season was in 1988, the tenth season just started last Thursday, so it's something that's been around a long time and people grew up with it and it's just become an iconic and legendary show to a lot of people.
If you try season 1 you might think it's a little low-key and simple and old and maybe that you don't love it.. I say push on, watch season 2 and 3, they only have 6 episodes per season, and see if you end up loving the guys. It's all about the guys on the show and how likeable/unlikeable they are, kinda like how people get into the Trailer Park Boys, you just can't help but love those guys, same for Red Dwarf.

I haven't watched any red dwarf since that huge break they took in the late nineties after... season 6? Everything was pretty great up to that point.
I'm too scared. Don't want to ruin the good memories.

Haha I totally hear you! Things definitely change after the big break... the two writers split up and the show is different through seasons 7, 8, 9. Different enough to alienate some fans for sure.
Spoilers below, just the bare minimum info if you're curious what happens in later seasons:

Re: Who Loves Badass TV shows? Let's hear it!
I just started watching through Freaks and Geeks, figure it's short enough that I won't have to invest much time to get through it. Also re-watching through peep Show with my gf (4-5th time now haha can't wait for the new season!)
Still keeping up with Boardwalk Empire and Dexter.
I watched a little bit of red drawf, I have a very hard time with laugh tracks though, Seinfeld may be the only show I can handle it in.

Freaks and Geeks is really cool! After that you watch Undeclared and it's cool too.
Tanya and I really liked Peep Show, those dudes are hilarious! I like their skit show better but just cause it's sillier and goofier and I love that... have you seen That Mitchel and Webb Look? Peep Show comes back for a new season soon hey?
What's Downtown Abbey about? It gets mentioned all the time on American sitcoms, just in passing comments about how everybody is watching it... some kind of drama? Religious drama?
I can't think of what we watch on Sundays... I mainly care about Thursdays... Red Dwarf and Always Sunny! The best shows on tv!

I can't wait for Breaking Bad to finish up next year. That show is freaking awesome. Some of the best acting, casting, and scripting I've ever witnessed on TV. Buying a sub. to NetFlix is worth it just to watch the first four seasons. If you don't like it you don't have a pulse or maybe you just happen to like reality TV.

Currently keeping up with/torrenting:
Sons of Anarchy (darkest season so far, but always entertaining)
Homeland (tied with Breaking Bad for the best show on tv for me)
Revenge (hilariously soapy)
30 Rock (kinda tired at this point)
Dexter (better than the last season... but that's a low ass bar)
There's supposed to be a Venture Bros Hallloween episode coming out (if they can get it finished in time). Community got pushed back to... ???

Downton abbeys a period drama set at the turn of the century in one of those huge old English houses with the servants and stuff. Sounds naff but it's really good! Honest!

Re: Who Loves Badass TV shows? Let's hear it!
Yea, I love That Mitchell and Web look, they are probably the funniest duo I have ever come across....and thats number wang!
I read that Peep Show series 8 was in production, I think I like Peep Show more just because I find myself shring many of the same internal thoughts that they seem to have, which is terrible I know, but I sort of relate to a complete mix of the 2 characters, awkward and macabre like Mark, yet blissfuly hopeful and an intensely, non chalant twat like Jez.
I will definitely have to check out Undeclared, I'm about half way through Freaks and Geeks, and I think it's some of the best acting I have seen out of Franco, Segel, and Rogen (who aren't strong actors to say the least) and the main girl is to die for.
I'm not sure of you are a fan of most of those actors in the show, but a lot of them are going to be in a new movie by Seth Rogen called "The End of The World" It has ranco, Segel, Rogen, and Starr (lurchy geek friend with glasses) all playing themselves along with many others from their "group" all at James Franco's house when the apocolypse hits. I think it could be pretty different/entertaining.
Also I agree dub, this season of Dexter has been a lot better than last, and I definitely think it took a direction that it needed to in order to finish out the show next season.

They could've done that cliffhanger ending at the end of season 5. That might have saved season 6, which was just lame on all accounts. Really glad it's back to form. With House done I needed a new weekly must watch and so far Dexter is delivering. Should only get better with Yvonne Strahovski getting more screen time.

Finally another mourner of house ending. Despite what most say, I don't think it lasted too long, ended after a proper run imo.

Awesome, I hadn't heard of this! I love those guys.. especially Franco, he just cracks me up. Him and Rogen are flippin hilarious in Pineapple Express.
