i love my Dingwall AB-1. i could have scraped a little more for an AB-2, but i like passive pickups. i'd dig on having the body design and aesthetic options, maybe some day.

but i love my bass. i don't want anything else.

anybody else? stupid way to do things? sacrigearalicious? pew pew pew PEW?

there are other ones i'd like, but i'm deliriously happy with my favorite instruments. i love my Tokais--the TV yellow single-cut Special in particular is my Desert Island Guitar--and my sunburst Strat, i'm really fond of my Gretsch Pro Jet which i gutted and rebuilt with Dynasonics, and my bass is really good though i might go to a little bit livelier pickups than the current stock MIM Jazzies. i got my 12-string set up so it kills, and finally have a 000 acoustic i love; in fact, this is the first time in my life i'm sorted for acoustics, though i'd still like a jumbo 6-string. my other guitars all fill useful roles. but i could get by on half the electric guitars i have, the ones i really use.

neat. yeah, i've always felt really lucky that i ended up with an amp setup i love and a bass that i LOVE pretty quickly after starting playing again. not knocking people that loads of both at ALL.... just don't ever really lust after non-efx stuff. was wondering if it's good old fashioned gear lusty whore stuff, or if there's always something not QUITE right that makes all the MOAR G'TAR/BASSES NAO stuff fly so thick and mucus'y.

VISCOUS the gear lust is. VISSSSCOUUUUUSSSS.

I love my jaguar! I'm just not that bothered about getting any other guitars, which is a clear sign that it's awesome. I also find the fact that it's older than me funny.

And my upright bass is the best thing I own and will probably always be the best thing I own.

I am pretty elated with all of the gear that I have. My Warwick Streamer LX broadneck 6 string was easily the best decision I've ever made, even though when I first saw it (had to get it sight unseen) I wondered if I had made a mistake; the thing is massive. After five minutes, I never thought that again.

The fretless Corvette $$ 6 I had built was a little different, mainly because the pickups on it are so hot and nasty that it took easily two years to really figure out its voice and how the knobs and switches really work together. It's great now, and I'm very happy I still took the time to work with it and figure it out.

Mostly. I really dig on my 4 string Yamaha. Sure it's got the sentimental value, but it just plays really nice, and sounds killer. I'd love to be able to compliment it with a 5 string, though. Lately I've found myself wanting one really badly.

And I'm no guitarist, but that doesn't stop me from lusting over guitars.

I can't complain. Perfectly happy (though I'm still lookin' fo' a guitar with one o' those thinline hollow bodies).

That's not funny, that's awesome. I think all of my guitars are older than me.

oh, i lust, but it's difficult to come up with something i "need." e.g. once i got the Tokai Les Paul Standard i quit buying guitars with humbuckers in, because that one does everything i want a humbucker-equipped guitar to do.

I don't really need anything else.
My P could use a little work and now that I have a router I might actually do it some day. Its Rickenbacker bridge really sucks to set up so I've been putting that off too...anyway, all of this can be fixed and it's not really a big deal.
The only thing the SBV-500's missing is the P pickup from the 550. If I found a 550 that was close to identical in every other way then I'd trade for it. J neck pickups are cool but I prefer P. Other than that, I'm totally happy with it and the Jag Bass/guitars that I never play but need to.

I don't lust after guitars anymore unless one of the SB/SBV family appears on eBay. I would like to get a custom Electrical bass one day. The shiniest SBV that ever lived.

hurrrm. i guess that's part of it. i'm not really nostalgic about any gear. like, yeah, the MS2000R was the first real hardware synth i had, and i peed on myself when the Brain Freeze emulated it's filter section so truthfully...... but i don't want an MS2000. so that helps me not really lust after super expensive sought after gears.

....... i don't LIKE old stuff.

I lurve my G&L and my Squier jag bass a fucking LOT. I can't really see replacing the G&L unless its for a Wal, which will never fucking happen unless I win the Powerball. The Squier isn't going anywhere, because I actually liked it better than two fenders I tried the same day I bought it. The only other bass I could ever see myself wanting is a Ric. Which also probably won't happen, at least not for many many years if ever. But I'm insanely content with the basses I have now.

I'm super happy with my Jaguar. Needs a setup pretty bad though. The 'G' string pops out of the nut pretty bad. I probably should have gotten it set up after I got it in the mail. Oh well, soon. I'm still lusting over any type of traditional Jazzmaster to drop this Bareknuckle Pig 90 into. I played a Dean Vendetta for years before I got this Jaguar, and I'm definitely not looking back

whenever i take multiple guitars somewhere and i have the yellow Tokai along i always end up playing it. it cuts through everything, and sounds good on all kinds of music. the last time i jammed with it i played everything from country and western to "Interstellar Overdrive." literally.

The only guitar I'm 100% happy with is my Japanese Stratocaster, which is surprising I guess cause I didn't think I'd like the EMG pickups.

The only guitar I actively hate is my Double-humbucker Fender Mexican Strat.
