beater acoustic

Post by ryan summit »

any suggestions for a small acoustic just to noodle around on when i dont feel like pluggin in
had a nice acoustic, but i dont want a bulky thing
i was thinkin about a hollow body or resonator for the size,im not worried about the best tone
just louder than an unplugged electric
i know zero about these things, dont want to spend alot of loot, but dont want to end up with a kiddie guitar either
what do you guys have lyin around the house

You should be able to find a beat up old acoustic for hopefully around $100 or less used. That's what I'd do. Look on Craigslist.

what's yer budget, dude? at around the $500 mark, there are a lot of decent budget options.

I bought my daughter a Taylor GS Mini last Christmas, and I gotta say, that's a pretty decent sounding and playing guitar.
Maybe partying will help.

go to a guitar store with all the good old guitars. the places that actually still repair them and are stuffed to the gills with acoustics, usually with a little old man in the back that repairs them.

Tell them you want a parlor guitar and then try them all out.

There's some choice guitars out there that are old but still in good condition, and likely that shop will know how to have done the repairs to it to make it last even longer.

For some reason, old wood sounds better. Especially for acoustics.
