Best cheap digital delay!?

Post by hazelwould »

Anyone know of amy good cheap digital delays? Behringer, Johnson, Danelectro? Maybe some sort of Boss knockoffs?

I'm planning on buying a cheap Biyang analog delay. I'm also planning on running the delays in a TB loop with the nanoverb. To save my tone and yield some sweet textures.

Any experiences? Any ideas?

Not quite as bright sounding or feature-rich as a Boss, but it's pretty cheap. I bet they go for almost nothing used.

I like the echo/delay switch a lot. And self oscillation in echo mode. :omg:

That is a great pedal for the money. The echo sounds better than most 'simulations' to my ears.:thumb:

Do you have any personal experience with this pedal?

I'm leaning towards this one:

Here's a demo:

For all I know,it could be a decent dd6 or 7 copy, but if it's housed in that typical behringer plastic case= :grumpy:  ...

Don't have any experience with it,though... :idk:

I'd go for this digitech:

$99 new, but I've seen them on ebay in the $50-$60 range. Look at the features, this thing has four seconds of delay! I think this is a very versatile pedal, and for the money, I would take it over a Boss delay.

EHX #1 echo if you are goin' digital, good deal for the price. MXR carbon copy if analog. personally, i'd go analog over digital for some better knob play.

Thanks for the input guys!

I'm gonna go with the Biyang for analog delay, and mod it to a wah enclosure. For $37 and some change you can't beat the AD7.

I really dig the 4 second looper digi has.... Do you know if it has tap tempo? I know the dd400 does... And it has a little phrase psudo-looper thing. All for around $20-30. And be cause I'm gonna run them in a bypass loop. It'll preserve my tone.

If I get a chance I'll try and post a demo of my $60 dollar noise mod rig (includes the Ad7, DD400, and nanoverb in a loop).

DigiDelay is a tap tempo unit...and works great in feedback loop to create swell sounds and self oscillation. But it doesn't do the oscillation trick by itself.
