Korg miniKP

Post by hazelwould »

Anyone use these as part of your regular rig? I'm wondering how the reverb's and overall effects are... in terms of quality.

If I get one I'll probably build a TB box with a built in booster to fix the volume loss. I'm just wondering how practical it is in a live situation.

I know these things have been used for a while... (Greenwood etc). So I'm just wondering what is the workflow. If I wanted to do the cool 'Kid A' sounds would I be able to achieve it with the mini?

I've got mine in the mail. Should get hear by tomorrow.
For practicality of use, it really depends on what style you play. I've seen it mostly used for vocals and keys.
I've also seen videos of Radiohead and even Bright Eyes using it live for vocals. Twas very rad.

I'll chirp in my opinion when I get it.

A volume boost is a good idea. You'll also need some RCA (I think? The red and white ones.) to 1/4" jacks.

O.K.
So I've played with my new mini KP for a good 5 hours now, and it's exceeded my expectations.
Very easy to use, awesome presets, and pretty versatile usability. Definitely meant for the more experimental type of musician though, which I think all of us hear are.
The reverbs, albeit cool, are very cheap sounding. The delays are decent and the looping feature is product's highlight. Use the hold feature for hands-free modulation.

I think I may have hit the Brown Note with my WSG going through preset 14.
Yeah......yeah I did. :wha?:
