hey guys
i just bought an alesis io4
for $50 it seems to be a big winner
its the only one i found that gives us 4 in/4 out usb
so it works great
we all have our own tracks in the DAW
my question
cause we always want more...moar...morrrrr
is can i run 2 interfaces at once
one into each usb
some things ive read say there are special drivers that can make it work
so besides getting a multi$$$$ firewire
has anyone done this
and is it possible
most of the google searches come up advertisements
while were at it
i cant get reaper to work with mavericks
im gonna bump a thread discussing that as well
the io4 seems to work with audacity
cubase that came with it is giving us issues
running multiple usb interfaces

Re: running multiple usb interfaces
If you're on a Mac platform it's super easy. Look into how to aggregate devices using the audio midi utility.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

Re: running multiple usb interfaces
Yeah it should work with any DAW software, it's the Mac system that actually makes the work, not the daw itself

Re: running multiple usb interfaces
For those looking at this thread and using Windows, ASIO4ALL will allow chaining of devices in most cases.
It may require tweaking but I have several chained on mine for a theoretical max of 28 tracks at a time (I don't even have two of the devices plugged in normally, but I tried for S&G when I got the new PC and it worked). Normally I "only" have 24.

I have 3 devices running on my Mac - MOTU Ultralite, iConnectivity MIDI4+, and Alen & Heat XONE:4D - works like a charm!
