hey all:
I have a small amp that I want to record via direct output. This amp is small enough that I don't need to actually attenuate the signal going to the cab with a power soak. The question is, how can I split a line-level signal off the speaker-level output? Is there a way to do this?

Re: best way to add a line output
For some reason that just doesn't sound like a good idea. If the amp is a small solid state amp it will usually have some kind of "record out" (I think my Fender Greta has it), otherwise plugging into the headphone jack might do it.
To be able to make a decent recommendation, knowing the amp and recording setup would be helpful.

direct boxes are pretty cheap and would give u a line out w/o any risk.

Re: best way to add a line output
OK, let me clarify:
Emery Microbaby -> 4ohm Cab.
I want to monitor the amp through the cab and keep the cab load on the amp. I also want to split a line level signal off the speaker jack.
I found this: https://taweber.powweb.com/weber/hpa50.htm

It's a sweet little amp you have. The Weber load box looks like a great way to go.

My personal preference for this kind of thing.

Going to keep an eye on this as quite like the look of the red box as a useful tool. Has anyone had experience of using it?
