Dear diary,

After an almost two week battle against a dual wielding ear infection that spread to my jaw and throat, I'm finally able to not experience the constant want to end it all. Thankfully, it didn't spread to my brain (doctors were like "shit fam maybe it will maybe it won't). Antibiotics are the shit, but painkillers are also real MVPs. Now, I find solace in returning to working on the backyard. Finished stripping down the porch and applying the first layer of fresh paint. Tomorrow, I will install the new door to said backyard. To treat myself after my illness (and with the help of house loan tax returns), I ordered a new soldering station, and today I plan on ordering more pedal building stuff, like a compartment sorter box thingy, a ventilation system and a few breadboards. The wife and dogs are doing fine, thanks for asking, dear diary. I should be working on my thesis, but I just can't seem to bring myself to do so. 100 pages due in 7 months and I'm still on page 10. Fuck. I haven't played into an amp in maybe 3 weeks. I should. Note to self: I'm out of coffee. Buy coffee. I found out my old skating buddy from Bergen, whom I share all of my adolescent memories with from the time I lived there, died one year ago. I randomly found out when I tried messaging him to ask how he was doing since I hadn't heard from him in a while. We usually kept each other up to speed on our lives, but because I've been busy working on the house and studying and working, I've just...not. Went to his Facebook page and, yeah, my friend has been dead for a year without me knowing about it. I felt shock and sadness, but everyone else had already been grieving. It felt as if I was outside of time. Strange times, dear diary.

Holy shit UC, that's terrible.
Ear infection is also terrible.
Being out of coffee while writing the thesis is terrible.
Painting the porch is terrible too, but also satisfying (i finished painting the whole garage and basement last sunday and, while the backache started to go away only yesterday, i am extremely happy of the result)
