1) Ibanez BTB6 bass. The only bass I own. I go to the bass section and just casually glance over at the wall. I’ve had her for 12+ years and never really ever want for another bass.
2) Peavey bass head - I have 3 - but the MKIII is my favourite. I love the Peavey Butcher I bought two years ago to death but the solid state is my baby.
3) DOD Death Metal - I like the FX86B the best. I have 12 if you count 86, 86B and Digitech. My favourite extreme distortion tone.
4) Boss Bass EQ - I like to boost the mids a bit. I like the volume post gain. I always have it on my board.
5) Boss DD7 - I always have this on my board even if I’m using a “fancy” analog delay. The Swiss Army knife of delay pedals. I get every sound I want out of it.
6) XIX HMD-1 - I had to really think about this - it’s a staple on my board. I like it more than the OG. I like it more than the HM-3. I like it more than any other HM-2 clone I’ve heard. From Novorbirsk, Siberia! It’s a great little pedal. It’s EQ selection with the kids is more manageable than a Metal Zone (that I like!) but dials in that sweet grindy bass tone for me.
7) EHX Data Corrupter - I bought one and sold it and re bought it this year. I went through a weird phase where I wanted all my pedals to be trashy and generically available and didn’t want “expensive shit” on my board. I missed it so much I bought it back. I love the square wave. I love the subharmonic. I love the oscillator making all them weird sounds. I love everything about it.
If you know me at all you might say “hey no ring mod? that guy has 400 posts in the ring mod thread what gives you LIAR” but since my noisecore band broke up I just don’t have as much use for one. I love them. But they’re sitting in a box right now. If this was pre-pandemic you better believe I’d have a Gonkulator and a Randy’s Revenge on my board and I’d fuckin’ use them all the time.
This is hard! There’s a few other things that might have “defined me” over the years. But this is sort of the most current of where I’m at.

I bought a Lamb era Grunge for $80 while all my stuff was in storage, couldn’t pass it up even though I hardly thinking about playing music - now that I’m back at it it’s really become a pedal I LOVE on bass (and I had the Bass Grunge that I never clicked with). It’s a very good circuit!
