Uppers octave fuzz
I like the soft-switch application of the octave up.

The octave / wave-folding sounds really good. Excellent EQ section as well.

Re: Uppers octave fuzz
Upon receipt of this pedal, I noticed something very curious.
Coincidence?:

I think not.
Very clever, Scott, very clever.
(Oh, yeah, btw, sounds great!

Re: Uppers octave fuzz
i have no idea what the pipe stuffs are about, other than word adjacency, but i'm here for it, and it led me to this interesting article and website:
https://www.atlasobscura.com/articles/m ... -excavated

and, yes, i, too, now have an uppers, and i, too, really like it - especially on abrupt sounds, as in the beat section of the demo

it is just a coincidence but i definitely see what you are saying. originally the artwork was slightly more elaborate and may have been less pipe looking, but it was too busy visually for me.Chankgeez wrote:You're welcome.![]()

It looks great though.
I'm diggin' the powerful EQ section.
Makes it quite versatile.

Re: Uppers octave fuzz
thanks. when we made the "too positive" it was a bit mixed the feedback on the look but i like this style. we will still make some things the other engraved style, just i wanted to try some different techniques. we also spent some time with parametric/generative art work but never used it on a pedal because with the previous engraving technique it would have been quite aggravating.Chankgeez wrote:It looks great though.![]()

but i have a fiber laser now so you can engrave much better detail more quickly/easily, but ironically so far we have only really used to to emulate the style that the old cnc engraving process produced. but i think now between fiber laser and silk screen there is more room to experiment in the future.
we are also *hopefully* moving studios in a few months and will start powder coating in house again if so. this will give a lot more flexibility to colors etc because the way it is outsourced right now is super annoying, but we cannot find a great local option.

Re: Uppers octave fuzz
I have to agree wholeheartedly that the fuzz tones in Uppers is most excellent. The octave is really tasty as well, esp w a bit of treble bump...but on its own...just a fantastic dialed in sound.
I missed the too positive, any idea when more might appear?

thank you for the feedback.
i think next week we will have a large B stock sale which includes some too positive, or we are building more freshies now but we had to make some changes to the pcb due to part availability and it has delayed it a bit. probably still available mid july or so though even with the re spin.
