Hegel (and also Kant, though less perceptively), talks about Mündigkeit, which is having a mature political reason and voice. The key to this is Hegel's notion of reconciliation: accepting reality as starting from a point of rationality or justice. This is a key difference (one of many) between Hegel and Marx.

Marx: the basic starting point of reality is injustice and irrationality
Hegel: the basic starting point of reality is justice and rationality
This course, a perpetual alternation of determining what is true, and then setting aside this determining, constitutes, strictly speaking, the steady everyday life and activity of perpetual consciousness, a consciousness which fancies itself to be moving in the realm of truth.

What is your question? Please don't sully this thread with random bullshit; it's been pretty on point so far.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

HA! Neither I guess. I'll be mindful of E-mails for the next hour (working from home today) then I'm catching a nap while listening to this. I don't think I have heard this one yet.

Please do! Not following you.
It just seems to be the main killer of the joy that possibility brings, at least in my case.
Ah I gotcha.

"The more fear we feel about a specific enterprise, the more certain we can be that that enterprise is important to us and to the growth of our soul. That's why we feel so much Resistance. If it meant nothing to us, there'd be no Resistance." --Steven Pressfield

Another way of putting this (I think I read this on ILF) is that video games teach you that the continued presence of obstacles and enemies usually means you're headed in the right direction.
Usually it means that I'm not killing the enemies fast enough.

Thanks for the quote though.

Yeah if we're talking zombies then it's not a very good indicator. There's a level of trust in the intelligence of your enemies inherent in that idea.

Lower bunk: assembled.

Oh shit dude it came in five boxes. I cannot believe the lengths manufacturer go to to jam stuff in tiny boxes...logistics must be waaaay more expensive than I thought. Thank god I played with a lot of Lego as a kid (and as an adult with my kids).

Also we got one of those mattresses that comes vacuum sealed in what appears to be a poster tube. Opening that thing was a big event in the Invisible House.
