The key to this is Hegel's notion of reconciliation: accepting reality as starting from a point of rationality or justice. This is a key difference (one of many) between Hegel and Marx.

Another way of putting this (I think I read this on ILF) is that video games teach you that the continued presence of obstacles and enemies usually means you're headed in the right direction.

Usually it means that I'm not killing the enemies fast enough.
