you keep saying "castlevania" like it doesn't refer to multiple types of completely different game lol. the post-SOTN 2D metroid-alikes feel much less clunky than super metroid but with most of the good stuff intact.

True. I should be more specific. The 3D Metroids are rad, and I can get behind some of the later Castlevania games (though I haven’t played any of the later games all the way through yet). Castlevania 1-3 are where my beef is. I haven’t really played the other 2D Metroids. Where I’d played a couple of the 3D metroids I figured I should try the 2D ones and I kept seeing Super Metroid at the tops of many lists. So, I’m disappointed that it’s not better and that some things that should be very basic are very hard in that game.

Slayer was a joke band, and so were Megadeath and Anthrax. Metallica was the only trash band worth listening to, but even their music hasn't aged well.

my controversial opinion is that every n64 game plays just fine with a controller that works well for those games. bad n64 games are only marginally improved by modern control pad layouts.

I had a lot of fun running banjo tooie multiplayer mode on an emulator, but yes assigning all controls preferences using generic xbox usb controllers though!
