On the flip side, they did give me a copy of their vinyl for free. Possibly -- there were two openers and I missed both of them, so it could be the other one.

I've never understood it because I've always had a much different tone from every other band I play with. I've never understood being able to show up, use whatever amp is available, and go. I'd rather have my rig at whatever inconvenience that may be.

Yeah.

I think in my days of playing out of town gigs we would sometimes ask to borrow a cab because our guitarist ran a dual right with his guitar head and a bass head. We'd always carry an Acoustic 2x15 and an Ampeg v4 Cab with us but we liked to rock two half stacks, one on each side of the 'bass' rig. Because we used my old jeep as our daily gigger it was impossible to fit another 4x12 in there so we'd sometimes borrow from friends. If we didn't know anybody then we'd play as it, not like we lacked volume. It was more for spatial/sound dispersion reasons that we wanted the extra 4x12.

I remember touring a ton with my old scramz band. so we played with a ton of indie and punk bands. And it was pretty common for the locals to come ask me to use my bass rig cause i actually sprang to have an Ampeg 810 while most of them that were asking used 410 cabs or 115 cabs or combos... luckily I didn't even have to play dick, I always said oh I would but we have to load out to make space for the other bands so we have to pack all our shit back in the trailer and well the bass cab goes in first in order to make it all fit properly.

Had a couple that asked if I could just pull it back out or load everything else in and then load the bass cab after.. which then I would tell them to fuck off proper that it's not my fault you are too poor to get better shit. Luckily no one ever asked to borrow my bass cause at that time I was rocking a 6 string that I tuned more like a regular guitar cause I was doing a ton of melodic lines to counter balance the guitar lines to make it more full since we were a 3 piece.

Skramz is the new term for real screamo bands. bands that were like pg 99, City of Catepillar, Hot Cross,... you know not what most kids refer to screamo as which could be anything from emo bands/indi bands/ metalcore/ whatever the fuck cause it's not actual screamo. So collectively the entire scene redubbed themselves.

thank you Nick, skull, and dos... I guess I should visit other parts of the board far more often. hahaha. weird thing I remember seeing the title of that i want a science amp yet didn't click cause I figured it was some brainstorming what if type stuff.

main reason I brought it up was a friend of mine emailed me asking if I knew about it since we both enjoy kidcrash and I played with them a few times way back in the day.

I meant which band were you in, sorry. I listen to tons of skramz and I'm a big fan of the genre overall.

Ooh my bad, I was in Recovery Period. I doubt you'll know but we did get out pretty often and about.

apparently mitch (the guitarist/singer) has been uploading all the videos from the shows we played... maybe that's why all of a sudden he had been texting me randomly more often. hahah

Those 2 are for the brief time when we had a 2nd guitarist... side note me and that 2nd guitarist with an older drummer from this band later formed a sludge band that did pretty well till he kinda lost it and went and joined the coast guard.

a quote from that science amp thread.... God no, this makes no sense whatsoever:

sylnau wrote:Those look great (very beautiful)... but 100w - 200w that's too much.
Do they have lower wattage, like 30w or something?

Lower wattage amp sound better to my ears.
30w is more than enough in a band situation.

Yea I usually have to remind myself not everyone wants to feel the air being pushed by the head. My dad was trying to understand that when I was explaining why I wear earplugs and then turn up louder... that's how I judge how much I like a head.... if i turn it up and it pushes a cab where I'm getting a massage by the air. That pleases me more so than it just being loud.

Dude, I'm about it. Definitely more hardcore influenced than straight up skramz, which is something I really like. (As well as something Pg.99, City of Caterpillar, and Orchid did very well.) You should check out Caust (http://caustva.bandcamp.com/) they're friends of mine that were doing something really similar for a while and did it really well. As far as volume goes, I will literally never understand the need to play quietly. It just seems boring to me. Music should be felt as much as heard and it's hard to write oppressively heavy music without oppressive volume.
