LOCOPELAND, if you don't think you'll ever get to see them again then do it. I've spent hefty amounts in able to see Deep Purple and Iron Maiden. I rather spend the money and be happy I went cause money comes and goes. but being disappointed with yourself for not going or doing something... that lasts forever.

This. I paid 100 bucks for a floor ticket to see Metallica, Down, and the Sword about 7 or so years ago because it sold out in minutes. TOTALLY worth it. At one point, I was 20-30 feet from James Hetfield.
KHEMMIS. Doomed heavy metal. DECEIVER out 11/19/21 on Nuclear Blast.

GLACIAL TOMB. Misanthropic death/black/sludge. S/t debut out now on Gilead Media.

Good deals with: Ancient Astronaught, conky, crohny, D-Day, Corey Y, ryan summit, tons more here and on HCFX under this username

Ok...multi-quote coming...

Custom pickguard, and all ready converted to passive with SD Nazgul / Sentient combo. :yay:

Should be fun, not as nice as Darren's cammo beast, but perfect for what I wanted.

Congrats, that is real nice Skip...those Vipers are really nice and you scored one that looks really different. Love the matt guard and black hardware...and those pickups should be pretty cool.

emptyparadigm wrote:Nice score, Skip!

I want a 6x12 for the reasons listed above. My Orange 412s are insanely heavy, and I don't remember my old Emperor 612 weighing much more than a 412. Plus, it had an overall sound to it that I just don't hear with two 412s or a 412/212 stack.

Also, an old dude had this on craigslist for a steal, so I jumped on it.

I've wanted a Gibson V (and an explorer, but that's a whole other thing...) for years. Four bills? Duh. I'm in.

thats a really good price, and V's always look cool man.

emptyparadigm wrote:Cheers, dudes. I sorta want to sand it down, finish it w/ tung oil, and either go all black or black guard and truss rod cover w/ gold hardware. Like these:

(but with black pickups)

Now this is fuckin' inspiration! I love that natural finish with gold hardware. It looks a bit like Albert King's guitar but less blingy...i say mod it...it looks too good like that!

misterstomach wrote:here's a pic. it's one of the seller's pic's. i haven't taken any of my own yet as it got dark soon after i got home. i'm selling the headache rack and toolbox and putting a canopy on there. also, this pic makes it look shinier than it is. the paint is little rough, but that's probably what put it in my price range so i'm not complaining. and i don't care about a shiny truck so much as one i can afford.

i love pick-up trucks...or Ute's as they are called down under...and Toyota's make killer trucks.

Yes...yes...with bands like EW you never know if you will ever see them again...either they are on their way out or they will be a sold out show next time too...either way, if you have a chance to see them, you may as well take it, and that way you won't ever look back an regret it.

Thanks Sam! It does look very different which is what attracted me to this one, well that and the pickups. I have the 7 string version of these pickups in my blue dearmond, so I all ready have an idea of how it should sound. Tight crunchy and hot. Just the way I like my women.

misterstomach wrote:i really like that shirt design. it inspired me to check out your band camp page. wow! totally not what i was expecting at all. that's not really my scene, but your band is really good. and the recording sounds really good. the guitars in particular are killer. are y'all playing on shit you built?

anyone on here who's into gazey rocking 90's-ish kind of stuff should check it out for sure.

Cheers my friend.
Basically I played every instrument on that record and mixed / recorded it myself.
Ever piece of gear is made by me except the head which was a Laney AOR.
The new songs I'm working on actually has WAY more doom 'moments' and I'm slowly steering the band towards a slower and down tuned version of what you currently hear.
Which I think will be super interesting and exciting haha

VESSEL is really fun and I love playing music like that when I get in the right headspace.

You guys seen this?

I'm hoping against hope it can handle polyphony and will deal with a drop A tuned guit. Not holding my breath.
May actually be the first viable solution to not having a bass player and slipping those frequencies in there on the sly...

FUCK THAT PRICE, THOUGH.

For completely different.

has anyone seen that commercial for state farm where the guy keeps saying he ain't doing shit and it shows his plans change... like never getting married, never having kids, never moving to the suburbs never getting an suv, never having a 2nd kid....

really to me esp when it gets to the point of never having to move, he seemed to more and more disgusted with each passing segment aside from the end where he's supposed to be happy with his life...

It really seems like a systematically destruction of a man's life. at least to me.

HUZZAH new truck! I learned how to drive on a 5-speed 86 Toyota pickup....when I was 12. Being from the middle of nowhere had some perks. Dad sold it to my cousin in like 2003 and it ran until he destroyed the transmission mudding like an asshole in like 2006. Yotas are fucking beasts.

I currently drive a 2-wheel drive Silverado, but that's only because I couldn't comfortably drive a Tacoma with a carseat behind my seat.

Iommic Pope wrote:My dad has a hilux, it is one of my favourite drives.
Our hilux model looks a fair bit different from the one Stomach posted. The style sides are usually driven by tradies who aren't loading big equipment like cement mixers, and saws and shit, and are more common as 2 wheel drive.
Mostly people opt for tray backs, so it's a proper ute, and is a bit more practical and less precious.
Lots of them are fourbies, but there has been a culture of getting the two door two wheelers and dropping them on their guts to look lower. Which is fucking pointless to me, but most of the dudes doing it are brocore dick faces, so, you know.
Also we got turbo diesels everywhere. They fucking rule.
Someone tried to give my mum shit because she drives a Mitsubishi Triton. That thing is also rad.
I still love my Zook, though.
We have a lot of fourbies in our family

Kaos is bang on about the rollas. Cannot be killed!

Nice wizard, Nic!

Holy shit, I can barely make out what you mean and my best friend is Australian and a car guy

Also, if and when the shit hits the fan here and I move to Australia, there is no way I'm not driving an R34 Skyline.

Ancient Astronaught wrote:Thanks! It's the pickguard that makes it so snazzy IMO, its unusually long and obtuse but it works just right as well.

Agreed - there is something very appealing about the pickguard. One just like yours but stock with the emgs and shit just popped up on Craigslist here, and it's ugly as shit.

AxAxSxS wrote:Nice ones on the guitars and the Tacoma!

I've recently become a bigger fan of japanese engineering. Got a broken down 77 280z for a song and have already ripped it apart and its about 75% back together. I like old cars and have had a few and I can say that, without question, this has been the easiest, most pleasant one to deal with. Everything makes sense and bolts are almost always 10mm. Left on the to do list is brakes, wiring, and interior. Allready got it running with the help of a good friend. That was the big question as failure to get it running is why it was for sale. (it was a vacuum leak)

Tell me moar about this Z project. What sort of motor you gonna run? HOW BIG IS THE FUCKING TURBO GONNA BE? I always got annoyed working on the Camaro because it was a random mix of 10mm and 3/8th bolts because they are made in Canada - that's right, the most badass Murican muscle car (this is fact, not opinion) is Canadian.

Yeah, I've seen that one. It's really interesting to me for a lot of different reasons. Spoiler alert: I got a clean bill of health from my oncologist today, so I've been drinking. Statistically speaking, people are the least happy when they have young children, and their life/marriage satisfaction rebounds to normal levels after the kids leave the proverbial nest. This sounds shitty and like a solid reason to not have kids - which is kind of is. The interesting part is that happiness measures waaaaaay higher in older adults that chose to have children over those that didn't in middle-old age. Whether or not this is because they are actually happier or have been conditioned by society (i.e. perpetuation of the species) to think they are happier is another discussion entirely.

What does this mean? Not a goddamn thing. It's just interesting to me that the commercial was more honest about the very real stress and misery of having children than most media portrayals are.

I haven't seen the commercial. But I was just thinking about this kind of thing today because I just finalized my b-day plans. Going to the city for a craft beer fest then bar hopping and staying at a hotel afterwards.

This kind of stuff is difficult to do if you have kids. Those friends of mine who already have kids I expect won't be able to swing by (understandably). I'm hitting 32 next month so I'm at the age where a lot of my friends are married and/or having kids. Luckily, there's still a few of us kid-less ones left and I'm sure we're gonna have a blast...we usually do.
