Damn, that's a nice looking build. Tons of class.

I will own a DA120 OD one day...

Love the neck, but I'm not so wild about the body. :idk:

If it was an esquire with a better bridge i'd be :bear: all over it. The three pickups though kinda weirds me out.

Also yes the OD120 is definitely on the short list of pedals to get. It's sooooooooooo tasty.

Yeah, I'd definitely have to lose the middle pickup and most likely the neck too. A new pickguard with a single bridge humbucker with coil tap would make it just about perfect for me.

Man, I really like the sound of single coils in the middle. :idk: I might want to remove the neck humbucker for another single coil. Bridge is where humbuckys shine for me.

Next Monday I'll be getting my death metal on at a Cannibal Corpse / Behemoth show. I am stoked. Generally death metal isn't my jam anymore, but I'll always stick by those bands along with others of the old guard, just 'cause nostalgia, and IMO they actually write memorable songs as opposed to the general shittiness found in the genre these days... too many bands that take technical beyond musicality, or resort to bro-downs and djenty nastiness.

Also, fuuuugggggghhhhhhhhhh Whores is playing Detroit on a night my gf and I had planned on going to see Blue Snaggletooth / Beast in the Field.... Fuck concert conflicts.

thanks John!

Barracuda, there are still tons of great death metal bands that are new but take keys of the old guard that do neither technical wank or bro-djenty stuff.

And never say 'cause nostalgia. it's almost like you are saying like you shouldn't listen to it or making excuses for listening to it incase some of the cool kids would snicker at you. Piss on it, just say fuck it I'm going cause I fucking enjoy it... like the second part of your post did.

Fuck yeah man, I hear ya. I'm definitely not ashamed to admit I still love me come Cannibal Corpse, I've been with 'em for about as long as I've listened to music. There are definitely good modern dm bands, I just tend to listen to more of the slow stuff these days, so haven't really kept up with that kind of stuff as much as I'd like to. Got any recommendations? Newer stuff I've been digging is Dead Congregation, Coffinworm, Gravecrusher, Disma (though I guess that's not really new anymore...), and others. I still try (and fail) to play Dying Fetus a lot, which is a great example of how to be fucking great while still showcasing a lot of technical guitar playing.

hell Disma hasn't released anything since the fucking full length.

I do like all those bands a ton. shit try out some Cruciamentum, Funebrarum, Vasaeleth, Ignivomous, Impetuous Ritual, Grave Upheaval, Undergang, Krypts, Encoffination, Corpsessed, Lvcifyre, Ritual Necromancy, Primitive Man, Elitist, Churchburn shit that's off the top not all are exactly new meaning they have been out for awhile but they are def. newer. and I went off Dead Congregation and Coffinworm as refrences. oh Cerebral Bore is pretty decent for something similar to Dying Fetus. there is another band that's almost a direct rip off but I can't remember the name of them. I'll have to check when i go home I remember the album cover. I think it's stillborn something. or stillborn in the name.
