Ufomammut is playing a tiny ass venue in my relatively tiny city and its gonna be amazing, but the show is on my gfs birthday. & she always says how her birthday sucks and totally doesnt want me to go. Still deciding whether or not to face the consequences

None taken. It's partly a "Brooklyn suits me and I enjoy it there" and partly a "holy shit I finally got into school somewhere" But most of all, the rent is too damn high. I'll love being able to make a long weekend trip to VT, however.

On the shows I've seenthem at down here, he was using Marshalls (good luck finding Orange backline here) and it actually sounded pretty good. Not like 5 full stacks but two or three.
Plus his guit work was blisteringly awesome, although I've seen HoF shows where he was a little sloppy due to jetlag and such (being the first city on an Oz leg does suck for this reason) and yeah, the solos weren't as impressive then.

Lulz at Al'z vocalz.

I still love him. He's like a big Jim Henson creation these days.

I'd be dumb not to buy a 60's Epiphone Olympic for $200 that I can totally turn around and flip for like $800-1000, right?

I got into grad school in Brooklyn for Exercise Science. I'm moving to Brooklyn toward the end of the summer.

I'm pretty fucking excited about that.

Congrats dude! I would recommend finding a phd program as well. Fuck this real world nonsense.

Yep, I'm ultra pumped for Seinfeld to hit Hulu so I can watch the entire goddamn series in order. OR15s sound really good, but hella overpriced. All the new Dunwich clips make me wish my gear fund wasn't perpetually dry right now.

I wanna live in Providence relatively cheaply and just visit NYC regularly. I'd be fine with that.

I just want to get out of Georgia. We were thinking about moving closer to Atlanta but I think we'd be going in the wrong direction. I think I'd like Chattanooga more.

You can find decent prices (for new york) if you know where to look and don't mind not being in the super desired area. I just moved into ridgewood and got a decent price for a rent stabilized apartment. Of course now now all the blogs and new york times are writing about how ridgewood is super cool and hipsters should move here. I mean if you think a bunch of polish people and townies are cool then there are right on.

For all you bassists (and pseudo-bassists) any experience with fender style bridges? I just picked up a PJ bass in BST with no strings, and the holes where the strings go are nowhere near big enough for what I know I need. What should I use to widen them so that I can tune to a full octave below ridiculous?

Yeah it is a cool neighborhood and the food is great. The delis have all different types of polish food served hot for pretty cheap. It just isnt the hype neighborhood that bushwick became.

In more guitar related subjects, I'm thinking of possibly committing a possible doom room heresy and buying an axe fx. I'm being lured in by having all the different amps and pedals at my finger tips as well as being able to carry it home from my practice space and have all the same sounds available. The big board I currently have is just not convenient to carry home on the train. A downside to living in the city with no car. A weird thing happen today too where I met a guy I recognized from youtube who has done a number of reviews for the axe fx. I got to chat with him for a bit but of course he was going to be in the pro axe fx camp.
